DEAR ZOO
Based on the children's book "Dear Zoo" by Rod Campbell. It's about a kid who writes to the zoo so they can send him a pet, but each time they send him an animal it is either too big, too fierce, too grumpy, and so on, until he finally receives the perfect pet. This story is easy enough for young kids to tell the story themselves but it's also a whole lot of fun!
FIVE LITTLE MONKEYS SWINGING ON A TREE
This flannel board story is based on the song "Five Little Monkeys Swinging on a Tree." It is sung to the tune of "Five Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed." It goes like this:
"Five little monkeys swinging on a tree, teasing Mr. Crocodile 'You Can't catch me, you can't catch me!'
Along came Mr. Crocodile as hungry as can be, and he...SNAP that monkey from the tree." (And you remove one of the monkeys and place him in the water.)

THE LITTLE GOATS AND THE SLY FOX
This flannel board story is based on a bedtime story my mom used to tell us when we were children. Basically, the Mother goat has three little goats. She tells them that she's going to get them some food to eat and warns them not to open the door to anyone, especially the sneak fox. She teaches them a song and instructs them to only open the door if they hear her singing it. Of course, the sly fox was listening and as soon as the Mother goat is gone, he goes and kidnaps the little goats. The mother comes home to find out that her babies are gone. She goes to the fox's house and fights him to get her little goats back.
You can downplay or exaggerate the intensity of the story depending on the children's age. Children enjoy this story because it includes three fun rhymes.
THE OCEAN
FRUIT
Veggie Pizza
This was one of the very first felt activities I made. I cut out big circles for the pizza dough, pizza sauce, and cheese. I purposely made the edges of these circles wavy, and each a little smaller than the other. I then cut out different toppings. All the toppings I made came from left over scraps of felt.
